Might be interesting if they could get some good 1970's era actor to play an older pilot, like Treat Williams or Paul LeMat...

And if the series makes it into next year (1964), I'll bet there'll be a storyline putting the characters on N704PA/Clipper Defiance bringing the Beatles to New York :supz:

No fair, you cheated! I've got more of the HJG's work than I care to admit, including a certain airline's entire 707 fleet. Come to think of it, their work forms the backbone of my civil fleet. I've always been very happy with their work and their research---it was their site I was trying to pick out the engine details from while watching. (Of course, the true classic American jetliner engine is the CJ805.)

Thanks, I'll make a note of that.

This. I think the series needed to have included an older guy in the left seat for credibility, while the current male lead should have been newly promoted to co-pilot aboard the London-New York run.

Which angle do you think they'll take---Majestic fills in for Defiance or the crew of Majestic miraculously arrives via helicopter to take the place of the Defiance crew? Hey, the latter worked for Christina Ricci. You could be on to something!

I watched it last night with the Mrs. I admit to not knowing the first thing about airline travel in the '60s, but we really enjoyed it! I thought the oil stained blouse was a nice touch too. I do agree that the Captain should have been older, but he was newly promoted at least.

Uhh so inaccurate! I was watching family guy the other day and inaccuracy is everywhere on tv....Lancasters with American Markings? Are those the right headsets? Did the Germans have flying interceptor soldiers with wings? I mean really, they need to get this entertainment stuff right next time!

It was much better tah I expected. Harmless bit of ENTERTAINMENT.

I thought it was rather fun the drama they made over the 707 takeoff (with suitable inspiring music).
We're jaded, to me almost any takeoff is a big deal. New airplane, new series, nice touch.

Either watch it or don't but it's nice to see some aircraft shown on prime time network TV.

I liked the C-47 with shiny invasion stripes in the Cuba DC-7 sequence!!!
All in all I liked it, so did the misses. If it gives me an excuse to watch an aviation related (borderline) show with her then great!!

Mark
