Does anyone know if the electric sonex flew yet? Any plans on it flying soon?

I've often considered the possibility of taking a small airplane like the locally built Murphy Rebel and replacing the engine and fuel system with an electric motor and lith-ion batteries.

It's worth a shot. I think battery technology is finally at the point where it is nearly practical.
