Howdy y'all,
I've got what's left of a one of a kind helicopter that was built by a fella named John Scott. It is a single seat, experimental helicopter, that utilized the skids, tail boom, vertical fin, engine, transmission, and main & tail rotors from an OH-58 (Bell Jet Ranger). I don't have any of the engine, transmission, or rotors, as all of the "good stuff" was taken off of the airframe before I got ahold of it. As a matter of fact, the thing was about to be thrown away, but a fella called me and said to "come get it this afternoon, or it's going in the scrap yard." Well, that was over a year ago, and I did get it right away, but only now am I really showing any interest in it (I've got a little idea in my head I may tinker with).
Anyway, it's N number was N2056B, and it was called the "Bobcat." I'm told that the owner spent years and years building it, but only flew it once before selling it. The folks that bought it only wanted it for the "good stuff" that was on it. I essentially have the bare airframe, including tail boom, skids and vertical fin.
I have seen one, single photo of this machine, back when I got it, but embarassingly can't remember what it looked like (all of the "cosmetic shell" for it is now gone). Does anyone here have any photos of it...or maybe any further info? Any help is appreciated.
Gary
