Does anyone know the height and size of one of the pylons at Reno? Thanks in advance.

Well, they are made from corrugated drain pipe and are on the top of telephone poles if that helps...

They are taller than you "average" phone pole. I think I remember the height being around 40' but I'll find out. I do know that not all of the pylons are the exact same height.

Thanks, yeah I'm looking into the average size of one of the pylons to redo in a much smaller scale.

Ok, most of the pylons are 50'. That includes all of the ones on the unlimited course. A couple of the inner pylons used for other classes are a couple of feet shorter. Another thing to note is that the "cans" on top are secured to the pole by rods and you can see up through the center of them. The pylon judges look up through them to judge pylon cuts. If they see any part of your airplane through the can, that is a cut.

Awesome. I think I have my measurement. My pylon will be a mere 4.17 Inches high. :D

Now all that's left to do is everything.

You built in way too frickin' small scale. Any more for me it's 1/32 or nothing.

You know how big a 1/32nd scale diorama with a P-51 and a Bearcat racing around a pylon would be? :?:

I think it would be great -- of course it's not MY man-cave, LOL!

Please post pictures when it's done...

Of course. Feeling the "spark" right now on this particular project so lets hope it doesn't fizzle out and get tossed to the back burner next to the other 10 some odd projects.

Not nearly as big as my 1/32 Tigercat is going to be :D .
