I might get some flight training in a C-140 someday. Any feedback on the type? ![]() |

Nice little plane. Pretty basic aircraft with good tailwheel handling. 140 has flaps, the 120 doesn't- not that you really need them. |

It flies the same as a C-150/152, same numbers. |

They are a fun little plane, but you'd do well to do everything you can to trim down excess weight. The heavier you are, the slower they climb. I got my tailwheel endorsement in a Cessna 120 back in the day, and there was one hot day here in Texas where the instructor and I were flying (and no, I'm not that big) got to about 3000' and couldn't climb any higher due to the density altitude. We'd climb as much as we could whenever we hit a thermal, and then start slowly sinking again... Ask Lynn, too. He has a very pretty little C-140 that I've seen every once in a while down here. He should have some pointers. Ryan |

The C120/140 is a great tailwheel trainer. If you can land the 120/140 well you will be able to master any tailwhell aircraft that follows. Great little plane. Highly recommend the plane. |
