SOUTHWEST AIRLINES has announced that they cannot sucessfully compete with Seattle based ALASKA AIRLINES or it's subsidiary HORIZON in the Seattle/Spokane WA. market and will stop serving GEG from SEA in January of 2012. They will continue to serve the balance of their obligations from GEG to other destinations in their route system. ALASKA is the biggest operator out of KSEA.
