apollo 14 astronaut & lm commander edgar mitchell now 80 is being sued by nasa for putting a video camera he used on the moon up for auction by bonhams auction house in england. they are a very high profile auction house internationally. nasa's stance is that it's still their property. if so why wait so many years to squabble about it??

As an astronaut explained in an article about a month ago, apparently Ed didn't get the memo about returning the "former" freebee memento's to NASA.

sounds like nasa is copping the u.s. navy's old attitude on recovery of it's relics!! at least the navy came around after all these years.

...or an air force maneuver as well, NASA is contending that whoever gave Edgar the camera were not authorized to do so. So I guess it remains...where are zee papers old man???
