Why do they take a perfectly good show or movie (anything to do with aircraft) and ruin it with drama?

Just stumbled onto the first program of a brand new TV series on Canadian CBC TV called ARTIC AIR. It's basically a TV soap opera but lots of nice turbo beaver and DC-3 flying in and around Yellow Knife. Has all the usual series drama conflicts but, we'll see, it beat the crap out of whatever else was on. |

The cockpit and interior shots are done in an old fuselage in a Vancouver studio.The DC-3 in the distance on the ramp at CYZF looked real though so I assume it was a Buffalo one given a temporary paint job. The scheme was identical with red replacing green. |
