Arlington Wa. kitplane manufacturer GLASAIR has been sold to Fang Tieji, Chairman of China's Jilin Hangxing Group Co. Plans are to keep the companies site in Arlington (KAWO) as well as the approximately 35 employees.
Fang has formed GLASAIR Aviation USA LLC as the operating entity for Glasair. He plans to invest 'substantially' in Glasairs product lines, including Glasair, Glastar, and the popular Sportsman design. Fang plans to grow Glasair Aviation USA by aquiring and consolidating additional airframe designs and other aviation companies. Jilin Hangxin Group is a conglomerate consisting of real estate, construction companies and property management companies.
The Jilin Ruifu Motor Group Co. is also part of the group. The company is located in Jilin City, the second largest city in the Jilin Provence in Northeast China

Thank goodness the Chinese apparently have more interest in general aviation than we do! Otherwise they would probably just fade away...
