The corncob rough introduction into service of the G.E. Genxt engine continues to the point that the F.A.A. will issue an A.D. requiring short term and repetitive inspections of the turbine shaft which is shattering and failing on in service aircraft. This affects some of the 787 fleet using the engine and ALL 747-8's which use the engine exclusively. This issue is causing some serious discomfiture and sleepless nights @ G.E.

Our friends in beautiful Oak City have issued a 90 day recurrent A.D. inspection letter for the G.E.'s on the 47-8 and 87's until the issues with the intermediate turbine shaft fracturing is corrected.
