1935 LOCKHEED ELECTRA L-10E • PRESS RELEASE • ATT: FILMMAKERS. 1935 Lockheed Electra L-10E, CN 1042, N1602D is the ONLY ORIGINAL L-10E left of 14 built and identical to Amelia Earhart's plane. Converted aircraft have been registered as L-10Es but this one is L-10E is the real deal. Owner Grace McGuire was the first to solve the Earhart disappearance in 1983..see Dec 21,1986 UPI story 'Bad Map May Be Why Earhart Didn't Reach Island'..Amelia and Noonan had been given faulty coordinates for Howland Island. Grace would like to tell the rest of her story on film.

Any comments?

oddly enough I've been reading about Gracie lately, she seems fond of attention for sure. She claims to have found wreckage of Earhardts airplane but has never produced proof to my knowledge. I dont know who discovered Howland Island was plotted 7 miles off its correct location, but I can't imagine it took until 1983 as Gracie claims to discover that error, given the WW2 activity in the area and Ann Pellegreno's 1967 recreation flight which passed over Howland Island. Gracie has also been atttempting to recreate Earhardts last flight for many yrs now in her own Electra but she seems to have a lack of necessary resources as well as some health issues. Gracie herself or someone with her username seems to show up in the comments section of many stories mentioning her name so maybe she will stop in here too.
