I am a former West Point cadet that left early because I was young and naive. This regret has followed me for the last 10 years and I am thinking about doing something about it.
I was wondering if anyone has joined the guard recently (or not so recently) and has any advice/suggestions.
I am getting back in shape to have no problem acing the APFT and they say with prior service and a college degree you can go straight to a 16 month OCS.
This appeals to me as I have a steady job (which is a god send in the Detroit area) and a Wife and young daughter.
My goal is to finish OCS and hopefully go to "Mother Rucker" for rotary training. Michigan has a Blackhawk and Chinook squadron.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of Guard OCS? Feel free to post or PM me.
I will be talking to a recruiter but I would rather hear the truth too!
Regards,
Mark
