Just saw that pop on the News! How do two nuke subs, RN and France, run into each other in the middle of the ocean....both crews asleep?!? I think two captains are in for demotion!!1 or is it just that they are both running so quiet now that they are that hard to detect each other. Fortunate that there were no casualties, radiation leaks and both made it home!

You got some 'splainin' to do!

If it is found they were playing games....wouldn't want to be in their shoes! Just a freak accident is bad enough!!! Did they exchange insurance information or flee the scene of the accident! Should have had "no fault" insurance:shock:

Boomers..missle carrying boats, typically cruise their patrols quietly and slowly at around 3 knots, IIRC.

As long as both respective captains were adhering to SOP there is really no reason for their superiors to seek
punishment or retribution. Of course that hasn't stopped some actions before when the public or politicians
outcry demanded someones head-on-a-pole!

Didn't a US and Russian subs did (or almost did) the same thing, only they knew each other was there!

Possibly reported last year?

Apologies if I have remembered incorrectly.

:o what are the odds of that?? the vast expanse of ocean & depth, it's like hitting a postage stamp from a mile away!! maybe the brits should ease up on the warm ale & the frenchies should ease up on the wine.
