Good list, Jack. However, you left one out .. the 658's sister, PT-657. Heavily modified, she still operates to this day (March 2011) out of San Diego as the charter fishing vessel, "Mailihini."

Anybody ever seen the photos of the funeral pyre of PT boats in the Phillipines off of I believe a beach on Samaur.I read there were many tears shed by the PT sailors as their beloved boats burned to the waterline.this is one reason so few survived the war.and the Navy felt wooden boats had no place in the "Atomic age" I guess the Brown water navy in Vietnam proved them wrong
