Simple answer is that they cheated in 2002, got hauled thru the wringer big time and since their connections with usaf at that time were viewed as hot potato - come this KC-X program you think anyone in US govt or USAF would allow Boeing to win again .. logic is NO. Too many CEOs,senators would be linked to bribes scandals and would not be willing to be exposed.

Boeing screwed up BIG time in misleading and stuffing up the 2002 KC program they won..

The pain then has bitten them back harder now

How was the USAF cheated in 2002? If I'm not mistaken the USAF had an equal part to play in all of this, or is Boeing so smart they out negotiated the naive US government? It takes a willing buyer and a willing seller.

So in your opinion how long does Boeing have to be punished for? 6 years? 10 years? 25 years?

What!?! You don't have any idea what your talking about! Boeing as a company did nothing wrong... It was individuals cutting deals for personal gain that so happened to involve Boeing and the goverment tanker program.. Because the Boeing employee offered the goverment employee a job, Boeing took the fall for it. Boeing does not condone or approve of that type of behavior..

And during that time frame Boeing was being run by either Full Condom (Phil Condit) or Harry (fanny pincher)Stonecypher. Condit was a pretty good engineer but a lousy CEO, and Stonecypher was the guy who helped drive MDD into Boeings arms by screwing MDD up so badly......
BW is right, Boeing is being punished for the weaknesses of humans. I don't see Lockweed still being flogged even though they really screwed the military with their outrageously over priced, but still underperforming C-5 program. But then again, thats been nearly 40 years ago and in the end the other competitor in the program, the 747 is still chugging along and it hasn't needed a single 'anti wing flapping' computer installed on any of them........
