Does anyone know the story of the A-10 painted up with the bunny on it's nose? Or have any pics?

I have a pic of it on my work PC. It is a pink bunny face painted on the front of an A-10. (I dont know f it is PS or not...but it is hilarious).

I'll see if i can find it on google.

I haven't had any luck finding the pic or any info about if it's real or fake.

It certainly looks real, but did it ever fly? It's awesome regardless Can you imagine the thoughts going through a bad guy's mind with that image bearing down on him?

I could have swore that there was a thread here somewhere that stated that the airforce would not allow nose art on the A-10 not and that they were putting all of the art in the cockpit ladder door. I will do some searching around and see if I can find it.

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan, May 16, 2005 — The U.S. Air Force A-10s currently deployed at Bagram Airfield are part of the 23rd Fighter Group, the Flying Tigers, out of Pope Air Force Base, N.C., and are a unique group of aircraft - evident by just one look at their nose art.
The noses of these A-10s are emblazoned with an image of a shark's teeth and eyes. The Flying Tigers are the only Air Force unit authorized to display nose art on their aircraft, due to the history it symbolizes.

I was a Crew Chief for years on the A-10, and the Official line, was only the 23rd could have nose art. Several Guard or Reserve units painted theirs up, but ended up having to remove them. In the combat zone, some rules tend to be forgotten.

There is a A-10 web site with dozens of ladder door art displayed, which is the common custom on Warthogs nowadays. When our planes were down for phase inspection (one week) the crew chief or pilots would often get permission to remove the door and have it painted as long as it was not obsene and was back at the end of the week.

Most Crew Chief were as proud of the ladder door art as the pilots and crews were of the bomber and fighters in WWII.

Haven't heard about the bunny, but who knows.
