Post subject:  Info on WWII era C-46 (or possibly C-47?) "Little Angel"

Hi...I entered a brief introduction post in the Welcome board. I was referred here from http://www.pacificfans.com (a board dedicated to fans of the upcoming HBO mini-series 'The Pacific'). As a matter of fact, it would probably be easier to just link to my topic there for the background info : Pacificfans.com

The scrapbook I reference in my post is here : http://www.buzzardsroost.us/gallery2/v/DadW/USMC/

My specific question(s) for you guys, obviously, revolve around the C-46 "Little Angel" entry in my Dad's log book. Since I know 'Google' is not the end-all, be-all of information, I'm hoping there is something out there about this plane that I could get my hands on...electronic, paper...I don't care. The guys on that forum also brought up the question as to whether my dad could have incorrectly noted the plane as a C-46 instead of C-47? I have no clue what outfit this plane was attached to...my assumption is it was cargo missions, but I'm also wondering if it was some sort of Medi-Vac plane (because of the name?)

I am also interested in other planes of WWII, but that will be for another day. My uncle (by marriage) Ernest Gordon, was a waist gunner in "Flak Magnet" (under 1Lt. Jack Umphrey), part of the 458th Bombardment Group. (http://www.458bg.com/crew27umphrey.htm)
