Pretty interesting that they found an untouched battleground site in PNG.

Wow, pretty amazing, interesting find. I'm surprised that those boots remained in such good condition after all the years of being exposed to hot, humid weather. Isn't leather one of the first things to deteriorate when exposed to such conditions or were the boots made out of plastic?

Interesting that this "discovery" has been known about all along and avoided by the locals. Is it really a discovery when you know where something is with great assurance?

believe it or not....... there are regions of new guinea still un - mapped & un - explored to this day!! the indonesian / former dutch part is especially untouched due to regs & amazing rugged terrain. this is where my dad was in during ww 2 & i have some amazing pics to back it up!! go to pacificwrecks.com, hit veterans category, you'll find my dad's ww 2 history their as major martin.m friedman 31st division. their you'll see his pics of sawar drome. tons of wrecked japanese oscars & misc!! there still has to be some goodies left today!!
