A RENAULT FT-17 light tank is being returned to Poland after sitting in front of a military office building in Kabul Afghanistan for many, many years. The tank was used against Russian troops in an action in 1920, was captured by the Russians, and may have been some sort of 'presentation' gift to Afghanistan from the Russians. It was spotted by an Afghani employee of the Polish mission to Afghanistan, it will be restored before being put on dislpay and increase the number of FT-17's on display in Europe by 25% where only 3 are on display. |
