A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

We are also hoping to attend with C-47A ZS-NTE (s/n 11926), all the way from South Africa - sponsorship dependant though. We restored ZS-NTE from scratch (we're still busy, but almost there)! More at: http://dc-3.co.za/dc-3-individual-aircr ... 11926.html

Best plugs for P&W R-1830 and R-2000 are without doubt AC-171's, if you can get them. Failing that, Champion REB37E's, or if your ignition harness is different (bigger nuts) RHB37E is good.

Would you guys down in South Africa happen to have or know where a left hand side seat side beam could be found, we are in need of one to complete our restoration of a C-47. We have all of the folding troop seats and the right hand seat side beam is installed but alas, nothing for the left hand side. Thanks for any help.

So what's the latest on this aircraft? There hasn't been an update in a long time. Has she flown yet? Has the exterior been repainted? How are things progressing?
