Gary, what are your plans for the seats inside the back when you take them out. I am with a CAF unit in Oklahoma City and we are looking for an interior for our A-26 Invader, which has the Exec conversion done. We need some seats for the back when we get ready to fly in about a year.

Hey Phil, very nice pictures! Again a big thank you for all the help you and the rest of the staff at Yankee gave us.

Hey Jet Mech, I don't think we will be getting rid of those seats anytime soon. We need them for giving rides to the folks out there that help support us and for anyone wanting a once in a lifetime experience of flying in a B24-A! It is the most fun you can have with your clothes on !!! "OL 927" will be going to Bristol, Tenn. next week and then on to Indianapolis after that. Come out and see her and go for a ride!

So this thread won't just wither on the vine....I hope that some of you will be able to come to the big 50th anniversary CAF Airsho on the 29/30 of September to see "Ole 927" in her new configuration. She'll be overhead as the pyro guys detonate the "Half Mile Wall of Fire" as part of the show. Ought to be spectacular and one of the high points of the show.

And, FYI Gary is going to Reno to fulfill a life-long dream of participating as a pilot there...He's been down with some health issues for the last several weeks...which is why his posts have been infrequent....but he is up and flying again. I know everyone here wishes him the best.

If anyone here is in Tulsa this week, make sure to stop in at Roadhouse Aviation at Jones-Riverside Airport to see Ol' 927! She is available for cockpit tours Tuesday through Saturday from 10AM-6PM. Flight experiences are available for $425 per person, and reservations can be made by calling 1-432-413-4100.

Come out and see Gary's hard work!!!

Ellen and I slipped down to the airport this morning to see how the B-24 has been holding up since we last saw it in July. If anyone has a "Consolidated" control yoke center cap that they would like to donate to Ol' 927 send me a PM.

It seems that an "amateur collector" decided to add one of ours to his/her collection, and in the process broke the right cap in half. :x :ouch:

Thanks!

927 Update

Thu Sep 13, 2007 2:52 pm

Hey Scott, can you give us an update on how she faired on the roadtrip.. ie: wear & tear, entry door, etc...... along with a few pictures included (of course)! Alan

Fri Sep 14, 2007 12:40 am

Alan,

No pictures, I STILL don't have a digital photograph maker. As to the airplane, picture the finished product at Midland in July with oil speckles all over it and the interior full of boxes of stuff. (And that broken yoke cap :x ) Other than that, she looks fine. I didn't see anything awry with the door, so whatever Dave Miller did worked great.

As requested, here are some pictures taken this afternoon of today's Tulsa stop for Ol' 927. I thought it looked like it has weathered the airshow season pretty well!

Does anyone have complete pictures of the cockpit, with the nav and the flight engineers stations?

Kevin ~ thanks for taking the time to post such great pictures !

They certainly make me look forward to when I finally get the opportunity to see Ol'927 at Wings Over Houston next month :D
