Not sure if we'll make it that far north this year unless there's a good incentive, $$$$.
Thanks for your interest and offer of support.

Thanks for great photos of the landing gear.

Alignment Question -
How do you align the landing gear so they track straight ahead?

Chad and PJ, don't count Indy out yet.................. Last Wednesday night was a good night for a work party and a squadron meeting, with everyone working hard to get the girl buttoned up and ready for an upcoming taxi check and runup. Butch Matthews come out to the hangar with me and was snapping a few pics that I did not know about......

Also cleaned up some light surface rust on the nose gun swivel socket.

She should be taking to the air sometime this week!

And to answer the landing gear alignment question: The only adjustments are on the MLG actuators to control travel and on the post collar to adjust the gear to verticle. Alignment is checked annually as per the directions in the MX manual, but if something is out of wack it means back-up structure problems.

I took a little video of the gear retraction on my visit earlier in this month...finally got it loaded to YouTube....

After all the weather delays, we finally got in the air this weekend. Several pilots and a couple engineers got checked out. I had to leave right after my flight, but was told we had an exhaust problem that will have to be solved. Anyway here are some shots of the morning before the training flight:

John,

I'm glad you will be flying with us. I was impressed with your skill and professionalism during your portion of the check. By the way, we found the exhaust part and fixed it today.

John, (the FE on your flight).

I was out of town all last week with the oldest son's wedding and "B" party but was never far from my phone which rang off the hook!! Not a problem but just so we are clear, these guys have done a super job and I commend them all. The maint. test flight went nearly flawless and then the qual flt's for pilots and flt. engr's were much the same!! My thanks to; Mike Dillon our newest qualified F/E, John Flynn, we call him Air Force One! Shorty, The Instructor, Mustang Mike, Chip, The Radio Guy, Tom our XO, and Paul, our OPs Officer. All of you mentioned and those who were not, Thank You!!! Wish I could have been there!!

I wish I could say for sure but we'll just have to wait and see. If I can swing it I will get you down to Addison, to finish the job!
