Looks like you need to lock Dave to the aircraft! Not to put down the unskilled labor that has helped you but wow
that is great to have someone who you can trust with a drill and hole saw around the aircraft.

Finnally got an account here. Hope the work my dad and I did made things easier, I know my dad wants to see the oxygen bottles once you get them painted and mounted since it took him so long to strip them.
Anyways, I had some questions on the paint scheme. I know we are looking at the OD with the gray on the bottom and the pre-war star insignia with the red meatball, but are you going to paint the words "US" on the right side and "ARMY" on the left on the bottom of the wings?

Are there going to be any other markings? Serial numbers, etc?

Perhaps a paint hint, but the "A" models did not have gray paint on them anywhere, nor do I recall mentioning putting it on there. Everything else regarding updates for the paint will just have to wait until we get a little closer to actually applying it. 
After all, we have to leave something for everyone to wonder about.

i think you have left plenty for us to wonder about, like how you survive, let alone do good quality work on such little sleep... how many more bits you will pull off before you concentrate on putting it all back together... and of course what treats are in store when we log on each day.

Gary's like our very own Jack Bauer... he does all this amazing stuff in 24 hours, and never stops to take a leak or gets stuck in a drive-thru waiting for a burger. Now I have this mental image of him pointing a drill at someone and yelling "DROP YOUR WEAPON!"
Keep up the fantastic work, Gary and crew. I'm learning SO much by your postings...

henry, I actually have started putting some of it back together. It's just that y'all don't get to see everything.
Imritger (Lynn), I don't get to watch that much TV, but I've heard about the TV show "24" and it's main character, Jack Bauer. Your comments cracked me up! The only thing you left out was that he's supposedly got unlimited useage out of his cell phone batteries....which I don't.
Oh, and jspott.....I nearly forgot to answer you about the cars. And since I don't know the make and model of each vehicle here, I'll just let you see what's on display. There are a couple of other vehicles (one more Jeep and a 54 Mercury) in the warehouse that are out of public view right now as well.

Is there going to be anything left for us to do in March? Don't have all the fun without us, we're still a go for coming down for the week, and there may be four of us now. Also, what kind of gloves are those you are using? We may be able to put aside some money to purchase some pairs of those and bring them down for ya, wouldn't want those mad hands going unprotected during your countless hours of seemingly unending work...

Jase, that is the same duck that was rotting away outside for quite a few years. Fellow WIXer, Taylor Stevenson, worked quite hard to get it in the condition it's in now. It's unlikely that it would ever float again, but it makes for a nice static display. The next time you see Taylor, you should give him an "atta-boy" for how it turned out.
Dennis, I can assure you that there will be plenty to do in March. The stress is mounting for how close that deadline is getting. Funny thing about stress...the more of it you have, the more you start feeling bad and not quite as healthy as one would like. The more you start feeling bad, the less you get done. The less you get done, the more stress you get. All you can do is suck it all up, and work through it, which is what I'm trying to do. Good volunteers that want to help are welcome stress relievers...so come on down!
Oh, and don't worry about getting me any gloves, I'll get some new ones this week and probably some more new ones by the time y'all get here in March. But I would recommend everyone that comes down here to bring some nice gloves with them that they can work in.

Gary, I may have a solution for that stress...did you happen to notice that Little Red Corvette in the hanger?
Why not take it out for some exercise ala Ferris Buellers day off... I bet no one will check the odometer.
