The engine has been reinstalled and ground run, awaiting flight crew. Dave can explain what was found.

Do I have too ?? Ok, what I can tell you is the backfiring that occured on the #2 engine, when we took off for the second test flight, caused damage to the cylinders, sufficient to warrant removal of the engine and send back to Anderson Aeromotive. This was there call and a good one. These guys are the best in the business and they wanted the engine back to make everything right. They did and when we ran on Saturday, it was a thing of beauty! Mitzi was dancing pretty!! We expect to be in the air again when we can assemble a flight crew. Possibly by this coming weekend.

Just a short note since I am in Seattle and hopefully Brad or Dave will post shortly....

"FIFI" flew for about two hours and finished with a couple of passes of CAF HQ! :D :D

Congratulations go out to the maintenance and flight crews who have made all this possible. I am looking forward to pictures.

Fantastic news! Congrats to all who worked so hard to put FiFi back where she belongs. Hopefully her engine problems will now be a thing of the past. :D

Flew a total of 3 hours today in 2 flights and I must say the engines performed magnifcantly!
The real thanks goes to Anderson Aeromotive for there trememdous efforts in putting the #2 engine back to serviceable condition in record time. Considering Reno was just a few weeks out when this all took place. Thanks Ray and everyone involved there (Dan) for your commitment to quality work.
Next a huge thank you to the guys that have been here in the trenches! Rick, Mark, Jim, Tom, Duane, Rudy, Chris, Brad, Shorty, Chief and some others that I may not have mentioned, plus all the CAF staff and the B-29/B-24 Squadron Staff that have helped thruout this whole project!!! Many more thanks to go around but this has been a very special day that I have looked forward to for a very long time.
We'll finish our test phase with another 1.1 hours tomorrow morning and get ready for AirSho!

Dave
