It seems that spending 10 months of the year out on the road touring with the Collings Foundation isn't enough for ONE WIX member ...

Nice video Jim,

Your stacked pictures with the GG bridge in the background and some country scenery appear to be in a very nice formation.

On that flight when we tried to stack them that failed, going from Chico to Livermore, was that the first time that was tried?

Hey Roger,

The flights we did up to our stop at Moffett were a rehearsal for the 3 ship up the coast. The US Air Force sponsored this flight through one of our pilots, Fred Lewis. Jerry met us at Moffett with the Beech and after about an hour briefing with the Air Force photographers we launched for Santa Rosa. This was to be an Air Force only shoot (exclusive) and I went along as an observer ;P It was a stunning flight over a solid layer of fog, that broke as we approached the bridge. The pilots, Mac, Rob, and Jimmy really did an exceptional job of flying. It took us about 45 minutes to get to Santa Rosa and the formation was never compromised. The original idea of a "V" formation was finally scrapped in favor of a stacked formation, which worked out a 1000 times better...which we were saying all along. That was a truely ethereal day. That evening our B-17 mechanic was treated to a ride in Speedball Alice with Jimmy R doing the flying and I flew as co-pilot with Rob in the 24 to get some shots with 2 Mustangs. I got out of the 24 and got into Lady Jo for some Mustang dual. I still pinch myself everyday.

cool, some of the local mustangs thrown in the mix, very nice. I was at Schellville on Monday and saw Jimmy up there, flying the Midget Mustang, and we had a nice high speed pass by Lady Jo. Not sure who was flying. Missed it with the camera, as I was in line for lunch.

And correct, I believe we were trying a line-a-breast shot, that just didn't work. Take care, see you this season............
