Say, anybody know the particular nomenclature(s) for the vertical flight gyro amplifier, rotary inverter, and perhaps the junction box used with the C-1 autopilot system on B-17 F and G models?

I'm attempting to assemble an operational system here and my library for reference material is real limited on the componentry specifics. Add to that confusion is the heap of electronic stuff I have access to, which is somewhat jumbled and decidedly unsorted. Sure would help to know what specific amplifier system and interter was used as the Boeing B-17 -2 and the Honeywell tech literature I have here as library copy only goes so far! One can only look at manual pictures of "black boxes" and inverters so long before acknowledging they all pretty much look alike...

Anybody know the correct amp and inverter type that can point an old dog in the right direction of the hunt? Certainly would appreciate any input!

Thanks for the note!

You're right - both Jay and John have some great stuff and are excellent resources. I'm still hunting for nomenclature numbers for the amp and dyno and may head down to AZ Wing of CAF for a little skunking in their library copy of the B-17 Dash Four. The information's gotta be in that manual if it's there at all!

Thanks again for the courtesy - I'll get it figured out yet.
