Warbird Information Exchange

I was surfing around the MUSAF's website and found a bit of a typo.

I am debating whether or not to send them an email about it. I dont want to be an internet know it all or anything...I just thought the people here would get a kick out of it.

"served as special advisor to the Chinese Air Force since 1937, formed the American Volunteer Group nicknamed the Flying Tigers. The unit consisted of approximately 100 pilots and 200 ground crew personnel (most of who had been released from the U.S. Army, Navy and Marines to volunteer for the AVG) and was equipped with obsolescent P-40E airplanes. It began training at Rangoon in September 1941."

IIRC they were equipped with New P-40B/C's... Not obsolete E's

That being said I thoroughly enjoy the MUSAF website, just thought it would be funny to share the little typo...

Obsolete by the time that person wrote the web entry???

Perhaps the entry should say 99 New and 1 slightly water damaged P-40 B/C's...

I'd say go ahead and email the webmaster about the typo and they should have it corrected soon. I had them update the info on the Memphis Belle shortly after it had arrived to the museum and the page was updated the next day. The page had said the plane was still in Memphis.
