Hi Guys,

Well, as my Dad said he didn't mind me posting up some photo's for you all for a previous thread I thought I'd continue with a few pretty good shots in this and another thread....tell me if you like them. Although I am not sure about where these were shot, especially the last one.

Enjoy

Paul

THe B-47 is from Pease. Not that the picture was taken there but I remember that Badge on the aircraft on display at the front gate.

Sweet B-36 shots, I notice everyone watching it, I wonder if it was going and not coming back or something?

Tim

Tim,

Thanks for the help on the B-47. The B-36's (back in the day) were based over in Europe and from what my Dad recalls was that there quite a few of them at the base...again...back in the day. I consider myself lucky to have these few shots of the -36's in flight. It's not something you see "everyday". In several other shots, not posted, I can see several other B-36 tails, but they are so far away I didn't figure that posting them would be much good.

On a personal note...I always LOVED the look of the B-47. That is one...SWEET and sexy looking bird in my opinion. But I fell in love with its younger cousin the first time I laid eyes on one....the B-52. And one plane I never got to see when they were in active service with the Air Force at a show was the B-58. I've seen several...Pima...USAFM in Dayton.....and MAN is that one SLICK bird also.

I thought the B-36's were "Magnesium Overcast"? :P

Westover AFB, May 1956? Look at the way the B-47 is positioned and the background landscape. Seems to match the B-36 in this link:

Just a guess anyways.

Nice pics of the giant bomber! :D
