Hello, at the space and rocket museum in huntsville there is a camp tucked off a little road past the center called avition challenge. This place has a t-34 from nasa that was damaged from a cockpit fire, a nasa-marine-darpa harrier, f-111 named "city of vernon" that had a cockpit fire, a mig 17, a-7 corsair II, F-16, f-14, and the most interesting one is an f-4(#64-0838) that has shot down a mig-21. I did a little research and here is what I found. It was from the Oregon Air National Guard and shot down a mig-21 in Asia. None of these photos are mine just some I found while looking it up on google. Notice fadeing markings and the tailhook is down in the photos of it in huntsville. The air force un hooked all the switches, buttons, etc and they used to let kids sit in it. Well a few years back a kid pulled a lever and BANG the tailhook falls to the ground . No one sits in the cockpits anymore.(they also used to let kids sit in the f-14 untill someone got stuck and couldnt get out for 4 hours) The f-4 is in a rather poor condition right now. Kind of a shame for a plane with a kill. Thanks
