Picture 16 of the Skyhawk with the damaged tail is amazing. Looks like it might be streaming fuel as well.

When I was a kid my uncle flew Skyhawks for the Navy. We flew down to Pensacola to visit him and he got us out on the flight line to inspect the #7 bird for the Blue Angels. They had the canopy open and he got my brother and I both up in it. I climb up the ladder with my dad following and as I'm sitting there my dad say's ,"this is just like what your Uncle Joe flies." I was probably 8 years old at the time and up until I was probably 15 I mistakenly thought my uncle Joe was actually a Blue Angels pilot! Later my Uncle Joe was the guy that replaced Ollie North in the Pentagon. (Unless of course he just took his office and not his actual position which I would say is another possible mistake I could have made for the past 10 years.)

Yeah, that's the plane Bipe! That was pretty cool reading that. Brought back memories seeing the pictures. That whole PIREP website was pretty neat. I particularly enjoyed the write-up of his T-28 experience.

if your uncle replaced ollie north, then i'd say he filled some pretty big shoes. it speaks well of your uncle!!! north was & is a great patriot, he just got caught in the media's spider web.
