Hi all,

I just got back from doing some flying. Each year during local Riverfest aka. Carnival the airport does some flybys for the event just to show some town spirit. This year we massed 6 planes to make passes over the Carnival along the Susquehanna river. I was originally going to hop a ride in a beautiful Mooney, but I ended up going in a RV-8A instead! :D We were the lead plane to take off and each plane followed us taking off one ofter the other. It was quite exciting to watch all the planes behind us taking off and follow suit. Not only that but the Wings of Eagles also had their PT-17 and SNJ-5 in the patern. So just knowing they where with us was pretty cool. We made three passes pretty darn close to the water at or below tree top level. As we made our pass we turned left bank to continue the circle patern. I watched as the other planes made passes along the river. I have to say they are a crazy bunch of guys. Steve in the Mooney made a mad low high speed pass breaking 180 kts and I watched in amazement as he pulled up hard and to the left. I bet that gave the people on the ground some excitement.

Gary the pilot I was flying with on our final pass he gunned her and took her right down on the deck! He pulled up hard and Ifelt some G's. He asked me if I lost my lunch. I said, na. Im good. :D

Anyway, that was my first taste of a mini arishow if you will. I had lots of fun!

Here is the plane I was originally going to hitch a ride in.

But I flew in this instead, an RV-8A :D :

On taxi looking back at the aircraft lined up behind us:

Looking down on N27: At the top center of the picture you can see the river. Thats where we made our passes. Right down there along the bank. :D

Jerry, my instructor pilot was also flying in a seperate plane. It was a very fun morning!

Enjoy,
Nathan
