Warbird Information Exchange

Well, this is it for Old Rhinebeck’s weekend airshows until next spring.

This is the 3rd year I've gone to their airshow and I have to say I got my $20 worth this year! I was very surprised and very pleased at the show they put on. I think most everything flew. I was really getting down on the show after the last 2 years but will bring me back in the future when I'm in the area again

It was great to hang out with KRLANG, AIRIC, Bernadette and Kelly. I wish we did not have to get back home and let the dog out so he would not deposit 3# of poo on the floor and all could have gone out to dinner.

What a fantastic location for anyone interested in aviation. Many years ago I use to take visiting foreign and domestic airline personnel to the weekend shows. Never had a problem filling up the van when it was announced we were taking a group over. The hospitality shown by staff couldn't have been any better. They always went way out of there way to make our little delegations very welcomed. After taking a flight about this time of the year one of our guest described it as flying over a flower garden that ran from horizon to horizon. Fall is a great time of the year to visit Old Rhinebeck. Thanks for the pictures, they bring back a lot good memories.

Hey Tim, Great shots. We had a blast and it was good seeing Ken and Kelly. You did get your moneys worth yesterday. Today we had the dame amount of cloud/sunshine mixture but the wind was to strong and before the WWI fighters flew the show was grounded from the wind. They did taxi some stuff like the Jenny and Hanriot but Saturday was the day to be there. We met up with Jerry O’Neill and family today, our talk was to short and we will have to do it again sometime.

I will post some photos in a few days when I get back home.

Off to the Piper museum tomorrow in Lock Haven.

I wish I had more time to talk, but the grandson's were keeping me busy, plus, every time I turned around, I ran into an old friend!
Let's see if we can get a large WIX contingent there next season!

The show was a little disappointing in that the WWI & Pre-war stuff just taxied, but you can't help mother nature! I've made the trip a couple of times and been suddenly rained out, so at least the D-VII flew early!

Rhinebeck was my first air show back in 1971, and I flew as a bombardier in the show several times in the mid-80's, so it's a little like a homecoming every time I visit. I only wish I lived closer than 1.5 hours!
