I saw one for sale a couple years ago. Not airworthy by any means -- needed some SERIOUS TLC -- but not really a basket case.

Looked really bizarre with that big reduction gear nose.

WE built one from a couple that had been in some A&P schools. Flew it for about 6 months. Had it to OSH about 1997 or so. Pretty interesting story about its use in PAVE EAGLE project in SE Asia.

There was an article a while back in Warbirds International about a pair of QU-22B's, one being restored and one on the airshow circuit.

Hey Daddy Mike!

Now that you need another seat you should consider getting one. We'll even let you park it on the warbird line at OSH! I remember seeing Mark's there and have some pics somewhere; but still have some boxes to unpack. Think of an A-36 with a 421 engine and smaller rear windows and if I remember correctly, tip tanks. Would be a good performer I would imagine.

I was looking at them at Baugher's site the other day and noted some were sentto A&P schools. I wonder if there are any still being used in that capacity?
I knew a couple were flying but have never seen one in the flesh..or even many photos of restored ones.

Restored one at Greenwood Lake, NJ Airshow in 2010.

Definetly had a  moment.
