Guys,

I've found two old photos from the old AAF Impact magazines (scans below) that I would REALLY like to use for the cover of a book I'm working on getting reprinted. Does anyone know how or if I could find out for sure whether or not I could use them?

Oh, by the way. My deadline for the cover is next Thursday.

If not, does anyone have access to some similar images that I could use?

You can use them since it's a gov't work although quality would be a issue.

Are we sure that this is correct - and what do I need to do for credits on the photos?

If they are in that "Impact" magazine, I'd look at the original magazine to see who the photos were credited to. If they say something like "Army Signal Corps," I'd credit the magazine you got them from. If you can find the originals in the National Archives, then use the NA archival reference number. Of course, do all of that before your drop-dead date! :) If I were in your situation, I'd just credit the magazine.

As Jack said, if it's a government work, it's in the public domain.
