Does anyone know more about the following ex-Confederate Air Force DeHaviland Mosquitos?
WD#4 Listing for Mosquito RG300 states:derelict San Antonio TX, broke up while being dism. for transporting to Harlingen: substantial parts held)
Anyone know what parts of this bird are still in storage?

RS709 went from the CAF to D. Tallichet, then to Doug Arnold and is now on display that the NMUSAF.
Does anyone know if the CAF sold this bird to Tallichet or was it part of a trade? If it was a trade, what did the CAF get in return?

Thanks in Advance...

Where did they go?

I'm just curious, I remember seeing Mosquito parts at the CAF WELL after the CAF sold or traded their Mossie. In particular, there was at least one Mosquito lower half engine nacelle with undercarriage and gear doors that were sitting behind the hangar in the "boneyard" back at Harlingen. I've always wondered where that went.

Well, apparently not everything made it on the journey from Harlingen to Midland. I'm told there were at least two tractor trailer loads that just "vanished." But I have no proof.

What I can tell you is that there were only a few bits and pieces from a Mosquito scattered throughout the Midland compound and they have since been sold to a private collector. In no way did they represent a particular aircraft...they were just individual parts, no fuselages, wings, etc.

Does that help?

Not certain Elroy but I think that is Kermit Weeks mosquito and is on long term loan to the museum- anyone out there know for sure?

I have to admit the Mosquito is the one airplane I would fly overseas just to see one flying.

No it didn't, it was flown direct from the UK for Weeks.
