Tom,
That sequence of shots were taken in hanger # 1 at the old Lowry AFB. It now houses Wings over the Rockies A & S Museum, where I am a volunteer. Quite a bit of that movie was shot at Lowry and at nearby Boulder.
In answer to your question, I don't think so. A couple of years ago, I tried to determine the tail number of the B-17. I perused the base newspaper for that time period and found several interesting facts about the movie, but no tail number. I read several books, including Final Cut, but still no tail number. In desperation, I wrote to the PRO of Universal Studios, but did not receive an answer. As I remember, it was an F model and I tried to study the background of the remaining Fs to no avail. If you or anyone else has any suggestions, I'm open.
By the way, did you catch the "goof" of Francis Langford just before she sang "Chat. Choo Choo". The director thought it was so "cute" he deliberately left it in. The "English" castle was torn down several years ago to make room for condos.
Regards,
Hugh
