I have a quick little question about materials: I am about to order the materials I need to build my B-26 radio rack display, and I need to know which would be more proper to simulate the original- 2024T3 Alclad, or 6061T4 bare aluminum.(this is for the shelves)

I am not sure which the radios are composed of: they have(naturally) the dull-aluminum look. Would the radio rack have the same? I don't think 2024T3 Alclad would get as dull over time.

If anyone can answer quickly, I'd appreciate it- I need to order this afternoon, and am trying to get it pretty close.(I am going with a .050 thickness sheet, rather than the original .063(+-) for economics, as the rack won't be experiencing the same stresses as original...

Thanks-
Robbie

PS Forgot how time consuming hand drafting can be...

2024 would be correct for the period.
I don't think 6061 was used extensively then. Particularly for flat stock, ie non-formed, applications.

Thanks!
I went with the 2024T3, but had to go with .040 thickness- they were out of .050, but I figure, for my purposes(a display reproduction of a B-26 radio rack) that it should be fine, as it won't be going on long missions over NW Europe...
