For those of you in Colorado today you already know of the tornadoes that hit Northern Colorado today, very near where I live...1 person was known to have been killed at 'Missile Silo Park', an old ballistic missile silo location just west of Greeley...the town of Windsor took the brunt of the tornado which was reported to be 3/4 of a mile wide at its base when it roared through.....no aviation assets were known to have been hit (Ray Middleton's and Darryl Skurich's shops are within just miles of Windsor)...pray for those who got hit....

For a slideshow of the damage go to www.9news.com

I'm a police officer in Greeley. Here's some pictures I took today when I got called in for the tornado. First time I've ever been to ground zero after a tornado. Incredible some of the things I saw.

There was far more dramatic destruction where I took these pictures and just north of me in the town of Windsor. These were the only pictures I was able to take as I was working.

Yikes! They had a tornado today at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California that knocked over not only a truck but some freight cars. They also had snow in Irwindale and a bunch of hail, mudslides in the brush fire areas, etc.

I guess we were lucky up here in Yucca Valley - dark clouds, cold and windy all day but that was it. Good thing the tornado missed the March ARB museum!

I'm a volunteer storm spotter here in Denton County, Texas (have been since 1980). I watched the video of that Colorado tornado on the 10 o'clock news last night. Holy cow, what a monster! It was pretty terrifying just watching it on the boob tube.

The photos posted above, especially the ones showing the tree branches speared into automobiles, clearly illustrate the incredible power of a tornado. It is very fortunate that only one person lost their life. It could have been much worse.
