I was meeting with the VP last night to work out out recruiting and HR procedures (hey, I don't know anything about bashing metal, so you help out what every way you can).

As for progress on the aircraft, the components that were removed from the cockpit last fall are receiving much TLC from a small crew. They are being cleaned and repainted where necessary. The seats have been dissabled. The museum has agreed to let PNS have the seats reupholstered offsite.

PNS now has an office in one of the restoration hangers and the museum has provided work space in that hanger along with storage shelf space.

PNS has also been collecting tools and other equipment for the restoration of the Merlins which will hopefully also take place on site. There are a number of mechanics on the team with Merlin experience, so we'll see how that goes. Apparently there is a desire from within the Museum to have one of the engines runable!

I suppose it there isn't really isn't great leaps and bounds of progress, but then the support/administration structure doesn't exist yet, and our hands on team with the appropriate skills is still small. The BOD is working hard to build the support structure so that we can build PNS as a large well greased function machine.

Anyway... that is all for now.

BTY Mike,

Tks for the update.

Do you know if your bird still has the original engines ?

Those Merlin's with transport heads are worth a lot in today's market.

Take care.

Good show Mike!

Can't wait to see the bird again next time I'm in town.

Yes they are the originals. At least I haven't heard otherwise. As far as I know it was delivered to Rockcliffe in the 1960s by the RCAF, and there it has sat since untouched.

You wouldn't be the first one that has mentioned that. Don't think of the North Star as a warbird, but as an artifact in the Canadian National Aeronautical Collection. It will never be parted out.
