Hi Guys:

Does anyone know where to find nutplates which accept -4 rivets? All that I know take -3 rivets.

Regarding rivets themselves does anyone know where to fing the "oops rivets" (-4 rivets with the -3 head)?

Shave the head of the Rivet! How many fasteners are you installing in nut plates? Why not use Nut plate rivets?

What you are looking for are NAS1097 rivets. The correct number would be NAS1097AD4-X, X being the length in 1/16" increments. For example a NAS1097AD4-4 would be 1/4" in length.

Aircraft Spruce has 'em or Sierra Pacific in CA on the West Coast or Guardian Rivet in NY on the East coast or any aircraft hardware supplier in between.

Just drill the nut plates!

I'm still a rookie!

I would drill the nut plates also! ( Been there done that ) after you do it there is still a little meat on the nut plate but if you mess up again you are out of luck beacause there is not enough left for a -5. I would shave my rivets because I'm cheap. I am told mooney shaves alot of rivets.
