I had a really good time at Wings over Houston. In addition to meeting more folks from WIX than I can ever remember, I was able to visit with my first cousin that I haven't seen in about 12 years. I gave several private tours of the C-17 but we were never able to open up for a static display. Timing and the crowd line just didn't work out. Still, we managed to run a bunch of folks through.

We were able to fly the demo and heritage flight every day. I was also very lucky to ride in the C-47 during the practice on Friday. The post and pictures from that flight are here. http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/p ... highlight=

I very much enjoyed meeting SCFan, Bomberflight, Zane, Karen, Rick and Ryan Harris, Doug Ratchford, Don Price, John Cotter, Ryan Short and some of his family, Chief's Nephew, and many others whose names escape me at the moment. Another highlight of my visit was being able to moon my crew from the C-47 during the heritage flight.

I thought the airshow was great and I hope we get to come back next year. This is my last airshow for the season but I hope my luck holds out and I can take a C-17 to as many next year.

It was nice to visit with so many people about my friend Gary Austin. He'd be quite humbled by the things that people said about him. Now I've got to finish writing out what I have to say at his memorial service on Friday.

Sorry the pictures aren't that great. I'm a loadmaster, not a photographer! Karen, I took a picture of your plane but for some reason it came out distorted. Sorry!

Gary would have gotten a kick out of the fact that his name was spelled out in Duct tape. I thought that was very fitting! I lost two letters during Thursday's flight but replaced them after landing. The name stayed on the airplane until just before we left for home on Sunday.

I thought our shadows looked cool...

Not to worry, Brad.....enjoyed our conversations more.....and you can see the black bird in background in several. Seems appropriate to have a "distorted" picture after dodging planes trying to hit me during the weekend....LOL

Nice set of pics, Brad! :D I still say you have WAY too much fun.

It's amazing how small the C-47 is in comparison to the C-17.

The Super Guppy looks really freaky when viewed head-on! 8)

Cheers,
