Chino Pics & Restorations 2009

With all the recent questions and speculation about what is going on at Chino, I decided to go there today. I have to say that the Warbird activity is high!! Both the Planes of Fame and Yanks Air Museums have expanded and have ALLOT to offer. The facilities at both are top notch and worth an entire day's visit.

First up here is the P-51 otherwise known as "Twilight Tear":

Now for the Bearcat that is under restoration at Fighter Rebuilders (and the A-36 under the wing):

Here is the 0-47 also under restoration:

And the "Crown Jewel" the B-17G Picadilly Lilly now under active restoration:

BDK, I also made my donation (small) at the POF gift shop for the B-17 restoration. Better late than never! I have some more pics of the Yanks Air Museum I will post later.

Here are the pics from the Yanks Air Museum restoration shop. With the B-17 at POF, the PB4Y at the Yanks and the many B-25's at Aero Trader,can we start calling Chino "Bombertown USA" ?

Thanks for the photos. Good to see work is ongoing on the B-17. I wonder if Yanks will ever get a B-17? This would make a great addition to their already great collection.

The Helldiver looks great so far! I can't wait to see that fully assembled. I wish there was a chance to see that take to the air.

They do have a Connie coming from Camarillo yet too...

Not much to see at this point. It is just a frame and they are replacing the pieces that had intergranular corrosion.
