Just got back from our EAA Warbird Squadron meeting at Ron Salvo's hanger and got a look at his BT-13 restoration.
The workmanship is first class and it should be done in 18 months or so. Ron's in his 70s and lost his medical but will
finish her up. BTW he's done this all by himself.

Thanks for posting that Jack. Makes me want to go work on mine. You can say what you want about Stearman's, T-6's, PT's, or any other trainer in WWII- the BT was the pilot maker/breaker! And beautiful to boot. I am hoping restorations like this and Mark Dinest's excellent pioneering restoration example lead to a resurgence of interest in the type- it is long overdue and deserved.

That's a good looking airplane, Jack. First Mark's and now this one... nice to see the old Vibrators coming alive again. Now I just have to get mine happening! :D

Gotta love WIX! I had never thought of the -13 quite that way before, but when y' think about it, it's hard to argue with, isn't it? I've always liked the type, tho' not exactly sure why unless maybe because I felt like I was one of the few who knew it wasn't a T-6 at a glance. Doubt I'll ever look at it the same way now, after thinking about that little statement a bit.
