Hello WIXers,

Here is a video of a P-63 aerobatic display at an airshow. Almost needless to say, the pilot was very good. This airplane is tough to fly. One usually only sees these planes flying straight and level. Great sound too!!

Thank's for posting Capt. Lou,

I gotta ask, what Pacific North West airport was this at? And, who owns that beautiful plane and where does it live?

Thanks for sharing the video. You're right, it isn't that often we get to see a plane like that, doing things like that.

Peace,

David (Future pilot of Tiger Moth/Harvard/Spitfire/P-40/P-51/P-39/Mosquito)

Airshow was at Hayden, Idaho, I think maybe Cour D'Alene Airport but not sure. Think plane is at Chino.

That's one stout Indianapolis air processor! Remember that you can fly an ALLISON further than you can ship a MERLIN

This superbly restored P-63 is owned by John Bagley, and is based at Rexburg, Idaho, as part of the "Legacy Flight Museum" (http://www.legacyflightmuseum.com/planes.aspx).

Thank you Capt. Lou for the video link! It is great to see this aircraft being displayed, and being displayed so well and dynamically in the air.

I dunno...my old buddy Ralph Payne was quite fond of saying "Mah boy, a Merlin in a box is faster than an Allison in a plane...."

...for five laps of a six lap race." Wasn't that the end of that ditty.

I wonder, to the original poster, what makes the King so hard to fly?

Was that from the 2004 Air Show?
