Hope I'm doing this right! This was one of the best airshows I've ever been to in my 20 something years of going to airshows! I was very impressed!
Anyhow, here are the pictures and I'm trying to figure out how to get the videos off my camera as we speak!

Great pics! I felt bad that I didn't get more (since I'm usually busy singing) but I don't have to worry because now I can look at all of yours! I can't wait to see your video. Drop me a line if you are having trouble, maybe I can help!

Here's one I was able to get and then play with on my 4 hour flight home! I have a soft spot for B-17's so I was in heaven seeing one in such good condition. Was definitely loving me some Chuckie!

Very thorough collection of photos. Thanks for sharing! I have got to get down there someday. Maybe next year when the Mossie arrives.

I am thinking that I really want to try and make it down there next May for this show. I am hearing so many great things. I'd make a weekend out of it and bring the family.

What I'd like to know is this a regular airshow setup? Is there a crowd line to park yourself at? Or is this more like a museum open house, where people hang about the ramp as the warbirds come and go?

What is the flying sched like?

Any tips you can provide to make the experience more enjoyable please pass along!

Pete

Pete,
The show in VA Beach is a great show. Take Reading, throw in a side of Geneseo and you have VA Beach. The set up is pretty normal air show, mingle around the planes until the line goes hot, then stay behind the hay pales and watch the show. Waivered flying starts in the early afternoon and goes on for three hours plus. There are plenty of comings and goings outside of the waiver, visitors and ride aircraft. The show groups the planes by catergory, this years twist was the Fw-190 and the Yak going up for an Eastern Front demo, a first for me and I have been doing this a long time. Vendors are plentiful and of good quality. Parking is on site and off with transportation. After the waiver, the field opens up again. Well worth the time and effort. I am three for three and headed for a fourth!
