Looks great..you guys did a fantastic job!

One thing..I noticed in the article there are plans for a stairway allowing folks to see into the cockpit. Sounds cool for those of us who are responsible adults, but personally I think it's a bad idea unless there's a constant security presence, or the aircraft can be locked behind a fence at night. All it would take is one jerk and you could end up with a smashed canopy and ransacked cockpit. If it sounds like I'm being alarmist, I relate a story told to me by a worker at the Wiesbrod Aircraft Museum in Pueblo CO back in 1986. I don't know what it's like now, but then is was mostly just a bunch of aircraft parked outside surrounded by a fence. The worker told me that he arrived one day to find a man an his son up on the wing of the P2V..and the man had kicked out a window in the fuselage so his boy could "see inside." The vandal couldn't understand what the big deal was..it was just an old junk airplane after all.

Steve,

Great piece ... that's not being cynic .. it's truthful ... a while back we had a couple of kids go over a rail and crawled inside the jet engine on one of the fighters in the Cold War Gallery ...

Thanks for the insights about the cockpit viewing challenges. Perhaps we go with a webcam 'Phantom Cam?" that can also show the outside weather!

No chance of people crawling inside the inlet/exhaust ducts...the inlets are boarded up and bolted plexiglass on the exhaust helps with that challenge...

Nice job! Great to see a static get some attention. Another town with a Phantom displayed on its gear. Very nice. but here in St. Louis.............just a Phantom with a popsicle stick up its butt. You can drive by it but there's really no place to park and look at it. Its not like they built 5,000 of the darn things here in town or anything. :? You would think we would have one inside somewhere so the thousands of people in the metro area who built them could show their friends and family what one looks like up close....... Of course you all have seen me on this soap box before.....

It looks good! You should be proud of that job. I hope our F-84 comes out as well.
