I often find myself checking out AMARC on Google maps to see what's still there, I always find something interesting. I was surprised to see at least a dozen ex-civilian 707's being used for parts, what with the amount of KC-135's etc. already in the compound; the ex-Olympic Air one at the top of the stack must have been a sweet ride in it's day:

What are these aircraft to the left of the F-15 & below the P-3's? Too big to be Skyhawks.

Also noted many O2-A's, and at least four RB-57's, and lots of three-tone F-111's. Not sure how old the views are, but still interesting none the less. The sheer size of the facility and the number of aircraft held there is staggering.

Yup, I do the same every so often. But it tends to depress me. I mean there are still a lot of older types there. The govment should open them up for sale. If they are concerned then at lest open them up for sale to air museum or something. There are still C-131's, C-119's, C-123's, C-97 just to name a few of the older types. If the govment doesnt want anyone to have them then why not just scrap them already.


(sorry bitter feelings about how no one can buy these older types that ahve been out of service for decades)

Moving around the complex I'm surprised to see B-52's are still there all chopped up. Are the Soviets still photographing them after all these years?

I'm not positive, but I believe( heard from more than one scource), most of those sites pictures are upwards of two years old.........
......or maybe, the russians have really slow satellites?

Seriously. Go to PIMA Air and Space Museum.....

In the wide shots, the B-36 is in the middle of the "yard" (as it should be currently)....... When you zoom in, the photo changes and the Super Guppy and 707 are facing each other and the B-36 is in front of the hangar only partially assembled.........

Mark, I noticed that as well! Also, it seems you can zoom in closer than I remember from my last "visit". You can easily read the two letter codes on the tails of the larger aircraft.

I can tell you that this area was mapped in the spring and summer of 2009. Most of the pictures were taken at an altitude of about 2700 ft AGL depending on what ATC allowed. These type of pictures allowed the rotational view that you can see.
