Steve, how did you get the cockpit pic of the Harpoon? I stuck my head in the missing camera window behind the entry door, as you did, but have not been inside this aircraft. I have spoken with the owner, who runs Southwest Aviation...nice guy...a Missouri Boy...it's for sale too...Not sure about the history of the two A-26s, but was told the Invader that is mostly together, is owned by an airline pilot from lejos de aqui, and is hiding the aircraft from his wife...

Wow, two A-26s? They both appear to be On Mark aircraft. It's amazing that in today's world where people are raising up and digging up warbirds wrecks in the far reaches of the globe that a trio of warbirds right here in the U.S. is sitting outdoors seemingly unwanted.

That black one would look really good if they could put that nice On Mark nose back on it.

Gary I did the same thing as you did but just zoomed my point and shoot toward the cockpit , held up my hand and about the third try was the best. I wish I had asked to look inside the A-26 because it still has its On-Mark interior. I only heard he was planning on getting the recovered flight controls back on it and flying it to Florida  . I have also heard that about as many times as I've stopped by there too, so for what its worth....
Yes they were very kind in letting me walk around by myself.

20 years ago, the Albuquerque, NM salvage yards had all kinds of interesting aircraft & parts. Stuff the DRMO sold in the 1960s - 80s. Lots of stuff from Vietnam., even B-52s and C-135s. Unfortunately, most of those yards were not open to the public, and they would run off anyone trying to take photos.

Hey, Taigh!

Found your mount for the top turret! Maybe the guy is interested in a 'trade'?

The Black 26 in Mark Fidler's photo is the old On Mark presently stored in Las Cruces. It was owned by Mickey Rupp (N26MR) before being sold to the Whittington Bros. (N26WB). Mickey also had a 51 in matching colors at the time. The other 26 is owned by Hal Kading of Southwest Aviation, and had also been spending time in FL. I'm not sure if it had been used as a drug runner, but it is a possibility. Two photos of it can be found here:

Chris...

My thoughts exactly. Does anyone know if the exec. nose is still up in the Geneseo area? I remember seeing photos of the 26 with long nose while there, but also still there after it had been exchanged for the gun nose.

I'd love to see a photo of the interior of the Black 26 if anyone has any. Someone told me it looked very nice.

TJ this is the best I could do from the outside.
Thank you for the pix of 44-34555.
Next time I'm through there I'm gonna ask if I could see the interior.

Steve,

Next time you are in the area why don't you drop by the museum and spend some time with me, or Old Chuck.
