GOODY! Another R-2800 beating up KPAE, it could only get better if either P.A. or John Sessions would buy a DC-6. I've always said you could make $99 Million dollars if you could bottle the sounds of a DC-6 taxiing and sell it to kids driving CAMAROS BLOOPATA-BLOOPATA-BLOOPATA :D

Awesome news! Does anyone know the story with this airframe? I saw pictures of it years ago looking beautiful in its '00' markings, but I'm guessing it needed re-restoring to bring it up to collection standards? Thanks in advance!

Most excellent news for sure. This one has been dormant for much too long, IMHO.

The Hellcat is officially my favorite Navy airplane. Is there a link to Paul Allen's FB page?

It's not a DC-6, but John does have a DC-3 on its way this year.

Yeah, Merrill Wien (of the late Wien Air Alaska) and his son flew it into KPAE about 3 years ago on it's way to someplace in British Columbia to be gone through (DAVEYMAC 82, you on this??) it had a radar extended nose and other aftermarket mods, not sure what it will show back up with.

Here is a recent photo of John's DC-3. It was taken last fall by Nathan McGrew, AKA BigNate on WIX...

Is it me or does it look like a photo of a model DC-3?

Its a really cool effect you can do to photos called tilt shift. Here, somebody's made a do it yourself web app for this:

If this is the Hellcat I think it is I fuelled it up at Sussex County Airport in Delaware around 1993-ish. It was flown over from a private airstrip before flying out the next day. I never knew where it went.

I took a few shots of her sitting on the ramp. I was on nightshift that night and the canopy was unlocked....so.....well yeah I sat in it for about 10 minutes looking around. :P
