The first photo was a casting number from the manufacturer.
599:25 is the number of hours on the engine when overhauled at ASF. The numbers after 5-23-45, I'm guessing, is the number of hours on the engine when overhauled at OCAD.
Both were military overhauls.
Thank you very much for that information. This engine was on the O-58A when it was sold as surplus in 1945. I think OCAD was Oklahoma City Air Depot.
